The 2016 RNA Paddock to Plate competition saw 770 head or 110 pens entered in the richest feedlot and carcase competition in the country, offering $45,000 in prize money.
Reserve Champion pen was won by Manchee Ag with a pen of purebred Shorthorn steers. The steers performed exceptionally well in the weight gain section (ADWG 2.64kg/day) placing fourth and excelled in the carcase section. The steers had an average EMA 104 sq/cm with fats of 18mm & 10mm, a HSCW of 386kg and a dressing percent of 56%. The steers were an average of 21 months.
